What we recommend 

Whether you are starting from scratch or already have teams etc. We always recommend, when creating a new, to start in this order: 

1. Create a team, e.g. Team Support
2. Create the channels, e.g. General, first line, second line, known issues
3. Create the role and assign it with the right team, channels and permissions

When you do it this way it's much easier when creating a new user. When you do it, all you need to do, is assign the right role to a user and they will get access to the predefined teams and channels with the right permissions.
